Boiler not producing hot water, but central heating is still working. The boiler is an Ideal combi-boiler approximately 4 years old. The system hasn’t been serviced since installation.

What we did:
We advised customer of our transparent pricing structure, and that she could view prices at any time via our website. Our Call Advisor also confirmed that the engineers were monitored on time completing jobs to ensure value for money for our customers.

As the fault that was reported is a common diverter valve problem, the part was sourced from a local supplier, prior to visit, to save the customer time and money.

On arrival, the engineer confirmed that it was a diverter valve fault, and replaced the part, tested the system and checked the boiler for any further problems.

We recommended a full service of the boiler to the customer, whilst we were there, as this is then half price, and as the customer has never had her boiler serviced, it would ensure safety and also check efficiency of the boiler. The customer agreed and customer was left with relevant Gas Safety Report, to show the appliance is safe and working correctly.

Customer was then sent the invoice the following day, electronically, via email, for her records, and a copy of the Gas Safety Report is kept on her file, should she ever require a copy.

Outcome:
Combi Boiler repaired, customer has hot water.

Heating is working fine, but the hot water their hot water is lukewarm at best. Worcester system boiler with tank. No warning message on the boiler, last serviced 6 months ago.

What we provided:
As we are a Worcester Accredited Installer, all our engineers have experience in working with Worcester systems. One of our senior engineers with over 40 years experience in boiler breakdowns was despatched to this boiler breakdown.

On arrival, the cylinder was checked, the flow to the cylinder was hot, but the return was cold, this indicated a blockage in the system.

The system was drained by the engineer, and connections to the coil in the cylinder undone. The blockage was found and removed from the elbow joint. The system was re-filled, and tested to ensure problem resolved, and water heating up to maximum temperature.

The area that the engineer was working was surveyed, and tidied by the engineer to ensure better customer experience.

Outcome:
Customers hot water system functioning correctly.
